Holidays in Spain & School Closing Dates

All Spanish Schools in Spain close on official Spanish holidays. We observe both national and local/ regional holidays which may vary according to your school location.

We stick to the same principal for all holidays:

  • In the case of two holidays falling within the same week (national or local), one day of the missed lessons will be recuperated.
  • One-on-One classes will be recuperated in any case as you plan the schedule.
  • Partner schools have different policies regarding holidays, so please contact our Head Office for more information.

Also, please be aware that whenever one of these holidays is on a Sunday, the day off will generally move to the following Monday.

National Spanish Holidays 2010

  • January 1st - New Year's Day
  • January 6th - Epiphany
  • April 2nd - Easter
  • May 1st - Labor Day
  • August 15th - Asunción de la Virgen (on the 16th in Málaga, Granada, Marbella), except in Tenerife
  • October 12th - Spanish National Holiday (on the 11th in Málaga)
  • November 1st - All Saints Day
  • December 6th - Constitution Day
  • December 8th - Inmaculada Concepción (on the 7th in Málaga)
  • December 25th - Christmas
